NAB Nuke news slowly leaking out

If you follow the right people on Twitter, you may have found out some interesting Nuke news yesterday.  Twitter user NEO_AMIGA (Henrik Cednert) had some great info:

Brad Peebler posted a video of the Nuke/modo/Hiero integration here:

Very interesting times, especially considering the Adobe/C4D announcement last week. This sort of deep integration is exactly what I was hoping for, I'm crossing my fingers that the modo renderer will be included in Nuke...  FXGuide is doing a ton of live broadcasting from NAB today, here's hoping that more details leak out (with release dates).

Comp and 3D Consolidation

Yesterday Adobe and Maxon (makers of Cinema 4D) announced that they would be entering a 'strategic alliance'.  Steve Forde, the product manager of After Effects wrote a blog post on it here.  Maxon posted a press release here.  Kanan Flowers' post-production podcast covers the news, taking with Steve Forde and Paul Babb.

Interesting times.  This means that the two dominant compositing packages have joined up with a independent 3D company.  Very curious what 3D features will filter down to comp.  Will it just be a 'send to modo/Cinema 4D' button in the comp packages, or will it be more substantial?  Would love to get the modo renderer in Nuke.

Speaking of Modo, they released another preview video for 701:
